The Chicago Blackhawks have made it interesting all through the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs and game five vs the Monarchs was no different. Up 2-0 after the first frame the Kings battled and battled and tied it up early in the third frame as they get a short-handed goal in the 2nd and an rebound early in the third frame. Hawks strike with just under four minutes to go in regulation with Citizen Kane getting his 2nd goal of the night. Then with 14.5 seconds remaining the Monarchs called timeout and draw up and wing and prayer and it was answered as Center Mike Richards redirected the Frozen One to tie the game up at 3-3 with 9.5 remaining in regulation.

The Clock struck twelve though as both Teams skated to no goals in the 1st extra frame. Then in the 2nd frame with both teams visibly tired the Hawks strike!  The Monarchs get careless in their own zone and the Captain #19 and #88 leak out on an Odd Man 2-1 and with a perfect pass right on Kane's Twig...game time!...Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Just like that the defending Stanley Cup Champions Monarchs are eliminated after a brilliant effort.

The Blackhawks capture the Western Conference Trophy but like they started out in the strike shortened season with #OneGoal...that still remains. The Hawks still have unfinished business as they will take on the rugged and tough certified and verified Eastern Conference Champion Boston Bruins led by Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron, and high-flying Czech Winger David Krejci.
