When I saw the schools headed out to the 2k18 Maui Invitational earlier this year I knew when I saw both Duke and Gonzaga that there would be a good chance both if not lined up in the same side of the bracket might get to the championship.

Well both the Blue Devils and Zags are set to meet in the Maui Invitational Final but it wasn't easy. The Zags took care of their end tonight with a win over a resilient Arizona Wildcats bunch as the score doesn't indicate what really happened.

'Zona had things under control at the break with a 45-37 lead controlling everything from transition offense to the glass. Then in the second half the "Zags" get both SF Zach Norvell (Chicago Simeon H.S. pictured left) and Rui Hachimura going and they dominated the 'Cats after the break.

Norvell dropped in 20 points as he missed his first seven money balls then shot 3 for 6 and all three were game-changers. Hachimura had a team-high 24 points and six boards as 'Zona couldn't do nothing with his extremely versatile game. His mid-range game gave the 'Cats fits down the stretch.

Z
the "Zags" Power Forward Brandon Clarke and PG Josh Perkins each had 18 points and one thing you know if you know about "Zags" Hoops they always have outstanding guard play.

'Zona was led by a game-high 28 points from Senior Justin Coleman who had six money balls as he kept the 'Cats afloat. Former Duke PF Chase Jeter from Powerhouse Bishop Gorman H.S. in Las Vegas, N.V.  fouled out after a foul an a technical as he scored just 3 points. It was just a tale of two halves for Sean Miller and his Arizona Wildcats who gets the #2 H.S. PG in the Class of 2019 in Nico Mannion next season and he is dynamite.

The "Zags" will get Duke as its #1 vs #3 on Wednesday Night...
