Well the votes are in and the Cy Young Winner for 2k18 on the junior circuit is Tampa Bay Rays LHP Blake Snell. Snell gets just enough votes to get past the Houston Astros RHP Justin Verlander with "Tribe" RHP Corey Kluber in a distant 3rd place receiving not one first pace vote.

Snell (pictured right) did it with a sparkling sub-2.00 ERA (1.89 ERA) and that in itself was huge along with a hitting average of just .178 against him. Throw in that 21-5 W-L for that 162 in 2k18 with 221 whiffs in just over 18- Frames Snell was dominant to say the least.

The Astros Verlander wasn't too shabby as his W-L (16-9) and ERA (2.52) had to affect his votes a little talking 1st place votes. Justin's overall numbers I think were better than Snell as he struck out 290 hitters in 214 frames and that my friends in 162 is mowing folks down at an amazing rate. If it wasn't for Snell's sub 2.00 ERA and that 21-5 W-L we would be talking Verlander with another Cy Young.

Corey Kluber having played any many folks "Peepers" his last season with the "Tribe" received no 1st place votes but that 20-7 W-L in over 200 frames (215 IP) and 222 whiffs was not overlooked but overshadowed by his near 3.00 ERA (2.89) Compare that to Snell let alone Verlander  you end up behind both at 3rd place.

Top 5 in 2k18 AL CY Young Race "Give Me the Righty or Lefty" in "A Cup of Joe in the Show Report":

1. B. Snell #Rays 17 1st place votes

2. J. Verlander #StrosShow 13 1st place votes

3. C. Kluber #Tribe

4. C. Sale #Carmines

5. G. Cole #StrosShow

Note: Only the "Tribe" along with the 'Stros had two pitchers in the Top 9 as it was Verlander/Cole ('Astros) and Kluber/Bauer (Tribe)...
