Both teams let golden opportunities slide past and in the end it was some careless taking care of the Orange by the VCU Rams and some big time shot-making by the Buckeyes that was the difference.

Behind Star Combo-Guard DeAngelo Russell's game-high 28 points on 10 of 20 from the field (4-7 3pt FG) Ohio State prevails in extras 75-72. VCU had all sorts of chances to get victory in regulation and down the stretch in extras and blew it with poor execution and turnovers.

VCU Sniper Melvin Johnson led the Rams with 17 points as he hit some timely money balls back to back late in the 2nd half to put VCU up 66-64 with 1:33 remaining. The Buckeye tied that score after an Amir Williams dunk and moved to extras.

It was Russell making the key plays as he scored four of the Buckeyes 9 points in extras as Williams added 13 points and Jae'sean Tate 12 points and eight boards. Doug Brooks added 14 points and Jequan Lewis 11 points as the Rams season ends at 26-10.

The Buckeyes now set up a match-up versus the Powerhouse Arizona Wildcats with former Buckeyes Assistant Sean Miller going up against his former Boss Thad Matta. It also will have NBA Scouts drooling as Arizona's Stanley Johnson goes up against the Buckeyes De'Angelo Russell two surefire 2015 Lottery Picks if they enter the Draft like many predict.
