The Michigan State Spartans after a sub par 12-6 Big Ten year and within a turnover from beating #1 seed the Wisconsin Badgers are a real threat to get deep into the Brackets and even to Indy. Behind their big three of Branden Dawson, Travis Trice, and Denzel Valentine the Spartans rolled past a tough UGA Bunch 70-63 as "Dawg Friday" made it real interesting down the stretch.

It was the 'Dawgs missing some easy looks under 40 seconds to go in the contest and Valentine scoring the last eight Spartans points when the score was 62-52 Spartans with just over two minutes remaining.

Valentine led "Sparty" with 16 points and six helpers to go along with six boards. Trice added 15 points and six assists with Dawson chipping in with 14 points and also grabbing six boards. Both Trice and Valentine combined to shoot 4 for 10 from deep and those three have to be good in all three categories in order for "Izzone" to be a tough out moving forward.

UGA was led by Guard Charles Mann's game-high 19 points and Kenny Gaines adding 15. The "Dawg Friday" shot 21 of 26 from the stripe out rebounded the Spartans by +8 but shooting just 33% from the field doomed them in the end hence all those bunnies they missed late.

State now awaits the winner of Belmont/Virginia to played on Sunday March 22nd...
