The Pittsburgh Pirates are something way bigger than a pitching performance but not when it's your top Arm on the Farm. Pirates RHP Garrit Cole went 6 1/3 vs the Gigantes allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out two. To help the youngster the Buccos chased Giants 2008/2009 NL Cy Young Winner Tim Lincecum after he went just 4 2/3 innings allowing seven hits and four runs.

To make matters worse the Pirates young phenom gets a tow-run single off Lincecum in the bottom half of the 2nd inning to bring Buccos Nation to its feet. Both Pirates Marte and Alvarez went deep as the Buccos put up 2nd, 5th, and 7th inning. The Giants finally ran Cole off the bump in the top half of the seventh inning with two runs. The Pirates win as did the redbirds ad  Reds in the Central as the race is tight. Pirates trail the Cards by four games. The Gigantes fall to 3rd in the NL West and 2 1/2 games back of the first place D-Backs.

Tomorrow Night's Tilt has Barry Zito going for the Giants and Francisco Liriano going for the Buccos.
