A nip and tuck affair turned into a night Sacramento Kings small forward and former UConn star Rudy Gay won't forget anytime soon. Gay led all scorers with a game-high 40 points on a blistering 13 for 19 from the field and 3 for 4 from distance.

The game was tied at the break at 48-48 and after three at 71-71 and it was Gay who had 13 of his 40 in the decisive 4th that gave the Kings the "W" over a more than solid Rip City bunch. Both Demarcus Cousins and Darren Collison joined Rudy in double figures with 17 points apiece.

The Blazers were led by LaMarcus Aldridge 22 points and Damian Lillard's 20 points but 9 for 26 from the arc isn't getting it done. Just from watching the Blazers in their first two contests you will not go anywhere in the Logo shooting as many money balls as they do. That coupled with getting beat on the glass at 49-38 will put you in the losers column more than they would like to be.

The Kings and Blazers move to 1-1...
