The Pittsburgh Penguins and GM Ray Shero did everything they could do to insure they would get to the "Fight for Lord Stanley" and it didn't happen. Everyone in the 'Burgh and 'Guins Nation expected Heads to be thrown into the Allegheny and that didn't happen. Instead its been a celebration of New Deal after new deal but most of it makes sense.

First a few days ago the Pens and Lead Man Dan Bylsma agree on an extension through the 2014-2015 season. Look Pens Nation they had everything in place and I think they ran into a buzz saw that just took it to them. It wasn't so much schematically that went wrong as it was more on the Pens playing with some "Valentine". Bylsma is 201-93-25 since he took over the 'Guins in the 2008-2009 season. His Winning Time Record is 36-29 including 2009 Lord Stanley Cup Champions. He should get the benefit of the doubt at least for now but you are measured in May and June and not in October through April but those months count.

Then there is 2011-12 "Fight for HART" Trophy (NHL MVP) won by Pens Star Center Evgeni "GENO" Malkin and his play has the Pens looking down the road and the "Yellow Brick Road" for Geno. The Pens have extended Malkin on an 8-year $76 Million Deal that includes your PNC Branch if you live inn or around the 'Burgh. Holy Easton Hockey Twigs is that some serious Bread and some of you Steelers should have played Ice Games when you were growing up. Malkin is only 26 years old and has plenty of Ice left in him and he and "Sid the Kid" are the cornerstones of the 'Guins and Consol Energy Center so they paid the man in full. Geno has a Man Cave of Accolades as he is a Hart Trophy (MVP), Art Ross Trophy (Points Leader...Twice), and Conn Smythe (Playoff MVP) Winner and that's worth Bank Branches is it not?

Look "Happy Feet" Nation the Pens are in a good hands and they will be back stronger than ever for the 2013-14 season...

Note: Malkin many would argue is right there with Sid Crosby and Crosby's Deal was 12-years $104 Million...so Geno took one for the
Team and his Checkbook...Wow!

(Crosby Deal was heavily front loaded for Cap Purposes as you can't pay every one at the same time)
