LATE August MLB Standings......the BREW CREW stays hot.....the RANGERS hit OVERDRIVE.....and the BOMBERS n CARMINES stay LOCKED IN.

The Major League Baseball Races are getting snug as TEAMS are trying to position themselves for the stretch run to the fall classic. There are a few Different Clubs the BLUEDUDE likes to put teams in almost like when a player reaches certain milestones during the SEASON.....like the 40-40 CLUB.......40 BOMBS and 40 Thefts.

I categorize mine as the 80/40.......70/50......70/40.....60/50 and so on and so forth.

80/40 at this juncture team controls everything
70/40 a nice position to be in late AUGUST controls most
70/50 either leading DIV or WILD CARD hopes still there
60/50 comfort zone may change day to day..rearview mirror

Fightin' PHILS 81-43 already in the PLAYOFFS....trying to stay sharp

BREW CREW 75-52 just recently starting to pull away and they R RED HOT

RANGERS 73-54 SKIP Ron WASHINGTON has his BOYS locked in again

BRAVES 75-52 chasing the PHILS but lead NL WILD CARD

70/40

BOMBERS 76-48 they will either get Division Title or WILD CARD.....prefers DIV.

CARMINES 76-49 DITTO.....like the BOMBERS......prefers DIV.

60/50

TIGERS 67-58 without AL CY YOUNG Winner VERLANDER.....going no where

D-BACKS 69- 57 trying to stave off the Defending World Champs GIGANTES

HALOS 68-59 RANGERS come into the TOWN n give them NO HOPE of catching them

In a nutshell 80% of these teams will be in the PLAYOFFS chasing the DREAM of becoming World Series CHAMPS.

The teams that are still in the running......the RAYS in the AL EAST.......the WHITE SOX and the TRIBE in the AL Central......the HALOS in the AL West hoping the RANGERS can come back to Earth.....the BRAVES in the NL EAST control Wild Card but can they catch the PHILS....and the defending World Champion GIANTS.....right there behind the D-BACKS.
