This is the position that started to get all the RECOGNITION first in the NFL as the GUYS who save QB's on a Game by Game Basis. The BIG Money started to pour in on NFL Tackles with Players like UCLA and Baltimore RAVEN Jonathan OGDEN, Florida State's Walter JONES, and the Ohio State University's Orlando PACE.

Now the new breed of NFL Offensive Tackles.....Just as BIG.......Just as Athletic......and needed as the Hybrid Defensive Ends/Outside Linebackers aka RUSH ENDS have done the same.

The BLUEDUDE'S 2011 Top Offensive Tackles on SUNDAY:

1. Joe THOMAS Camp RANDALL Dawg POUND: A mammoth of a human being like most tackles. He is the Prototype. Not just big, but athletic, rangy, excellent footwork and hands, and you dare try one of those CIRCUS Type Rush moves because he is still in front of you. Best TACKLE in run-blocking as well....the COMPLETE OFFENSIVE NFL TACKLE to say the least. The BROWNS knew what they were getting when they drafted him in the Top 5 a few years back. Now with a Mobile QB like Colt McCOY in the fold.....Thomas doesn't have to hold blocks as long.

2. Jake LONG the BIG HOUSE Mi M I YAYO: This former Maize & Blue TACKLES is a stud. In the MOLD of Mr. THOMAS but not as fluid. But looking at the TAPE everything else on this guy doesn't lie. The DOLPHINS now just have to find them a QB and LONG'S Best Friend Current FINS QB Chad HENNE isn't the answer obviously. Excellent in the Run and the PASS....Long is the STAPLE on that line.

3. Jordan GROSS Salt Lake City UTES Queen City NC: Has protected QB's Kerry COLLINS, Jake DELHOMME, Jimmy CLAUSEN, and now 2011 #1 Pick Cam NEWTON comes into the fold. NEWTON brings something to the table the others don't have.....ESCAPABLITY. But he also is not a proven POCKET PASSER. GROSS is Road Tested as he used to go up against DE Julius PEPPERS in practice all day. Also he is that anchor for DeAngelo and STEW to get to the outside in the running game.

4. Jason PETERS Woo PIG Sooie FAYETTEVILLE the LINC: Mr. PETERS is doing the same thing he was doing in BISON CITY for the BILLS........PRO BOWLS and Protecting QB's and helping the EAGLES Running Game. Now with #7 back their the Blocks in the Passing game are not always as long. Good feet and hands with that WIDE BASE makes him a top flight Offensive Tackle. Now in the running game will be blocking for McCoy and FA Pick up Ronnie BROWN......LOOKOUT

5. D'Brickashaw FERGUSON Wahoos Charlottesville VA J-E-T-S: He was as advertised coming out of the ACC. Big, STRONG, athletic and excellent wing span....which is always good for NFL TACKLES. He is the ACE for JETS QB Sanchez and in the running game for GREEN and TOMLINSON. He will anchor that JETS line from His TACKLE spot for years to come.

6. Ryan CLADY BLUE TURF BOISE Orange CRUSH: If it wasn't for that knee injury he suffered playing basketball........he would have been in another PRO BOWL. HUGE to say the least excellent Feet, Hands, and Length. CLADY has the luxury now....if it is a luxury .....to block for either QB Kyle ORTON or QB Tim TEBOW. The NFL Prototype Pocket Passer and the Learning on the RUN literally Passer. In the running game CLADY blocks for Former Bronco 1st Rounder and Georgia BULLDOG All-American Knowshon MORENO.

7. Matt LIGHT Top 5 Engineering School WEST LAFAYETTE INDIANA PATS: Has blocked for two of the BEST QBs in the NFL. Protected QB Drew BREES at PURDUE and now secures Protection for PATS QB Tom BRADY. TEXTBOOK....nothing comes out as spectacular....but gets the job done. He n Logan MANKINS anchor the PATS line in the running and passing game.

8. Chad CLIFTON played alongside SMOKEY at UT KNOXVILLE the PACK: Helped anchor the PACKERS to their Super Bowl 45 win. I remember when CLIFTON took that nasty Blind Side shot from BUCCANEERS Warren SAPP back in 2002.....I thought he would never play again. A Professionals Professional unassuming and a BLUE-COLLAR Tackle...who gets NO COMPLAINTS.

9. Marcus McNEILL WAR EAGLES on the PLAINS BOLTS: QB Phillip RIVERS must be happy to have such a STUD protecting his blind side as big and as athletic as McNEILL. The Prototype Tackle........Good Feet, Long Wingspan, and really good hands at the point of attack. Blocks for 2nd year running back from Fresno STATE Ryan MATTHEWS. A mainstay for the BOLTS line and for QB RIVERS.

10. Tyson CLABO DEMON DEACON Winston-Salem DIRTY BIRDS: Plays with these names.....QB Matty ICE RYAN, WR Roddy WHITE, TE Tony Gonzalez, and RB Michael TURNER. He is the main cog on that line for protection for RYAN and the running game for Burner TURNER of the Northern ILLINOIS University HUSKIES. Same measurable for the top NFL Offensive Tackles on this list just not as ATHLETIC and RANGY. But from the DIRTY BIRDS Offensive Unit.....he is IT.
