They can be confused with Outside Linebackers. But are they?......I mean they do KILL QBs for a living. Are they standing up?.....do they have one down?.......do they have two down?.......Are we going to leave him singled-out with the TACKLE?.....Are we going to CHIP HIM with a Tight End or Running Back?....When Offenses Game Plan.......these are the GUYS they CIRCLE in the GAME PLAN. For an NFL Offense to have any success it starts by containing the D-ENDS.

Forget the STAGE.....we are now OUTSIDE about to enter the TUNNEL into the FIELD.......A we MEET and GREET the 2011 TOP NFL Defensive Ends:

1. Julius PEPPERS TAR HEEL BLUE SOLDIER FIELD: Some people looked at the GINORMOUS Deal that Julius PEPPERS received from the BEARS and said WTF?.......at 30 years of AGE. You will probably get 2 maybe 3 years out of JP. He was running on FUMES in the QUEEN CITY last season. Fast Forward to 2011.....PEPPERS was a 1-man wrecking crew and almost helped the BEARS into their 2nd Super Bowl in 5 years. Can't leave him with just one guy.....need 2....and it better hold up.......runs on ENERGIZERS and MONSTERS....and all this time off what do you get. The BEARS FANS hope they get an ENCORE........SLIM D-END is Julius PEPPERS.

2. Dwight FREENEY the CARRIER DOME CIRCLE CITY INDIANA: The best right out the gate. He might have got the NOD if he wasn't playing hurt a lot of last year. A textbook Speed Rusher If I ever saw one. He and ALABAMA A&M Bulldog Robert MATHIS are the 2nd best 1-2 PUNCH DEs on SUNDAYS. The only way FREENEY won't get off......if he has those nagging 2010 injuries again.

3. Osi UMENYOIRA Troy STATE ALABAMA NY FOOTBALL GIANTS: With all that goes on with him and the GIANTS COACHES and Upper Management......OSI put up Double-Digit SACKS last season. He and Teammate Justin TUCK also led the league in Forced FUMBLES to boot. So when OSI said he wanted a new contract and justifiably so.....TEAMS can't just stop what they are doing and PAY every player....right? OSI has a restructured deal that is heavy incentives to where he could possibly reach those FINANCIAL MARKS. You THINK SACKS are in the INCENTIVES?...........ARE THE G-MEN still ROYAL BLUE up top?

4. Justin TUCK the GOLDEN DOME South BEND OSI's DAWG: BATMAN and ROBIN.......STARSKY and HUTCH.......what ever you want to call them.....TUCK is the more complete polished of the two and OSI's a better pass rusher. TUCK is SOUND in his approach like an AIRBUS 320 into JFK..........LOKKS GOOD A320......you are cleared for landing. Again what keeps a good man down? INJURIES....he an OSI need to stay away from that word for the GIANTS to be Highly Successful in 2011.

5. Robert MATHIS the HILL NORMAL ALABAMA the PIT STOP.....LUCAS OIL: The motor on this guy from the SWAC in NORMAL ALABAMA....the BLUEDUDE'S ALUM. This Guy is a runaway train at anytime and any moment. Excellent initial speed and burst with exceptional STRENGTH for a GUY giving up probably 35-45 Pounds a night. He is the perfect guy to play off of FREENEY because T-DAWG can play the RUN a little better than FREE DWIGHT.

6. Justin SMITH COLUMBIA MIZZOU CANDLESTICK near the BAY: A force to be reckon with. Just a complete animal that keep coming and coming. Can play the Run as equal as the PASS.....and I know the best Middle Linebacker in the BUSINESS Patrick WILLIS loves him to DEATH. New Head Coach Jim Harbaugh will definitely lay his hat on WILLIS and SMITH to keep things in order for the 9ERS. SMITH was an original 1st round pick of the BUNGLES.

7. Jared ALLEN Idaho STATE IDAHO METRODOME with the ROOF ON: Whether he is spinning out of the BOX like a CLOWN after a SACK or choppin it up with the WILLIAMS Boys on the sideline......#69 can bring it with the best of them. Very good HANDS and FEET, athletic and has all those little tricks ends use to get around the BIG BOYS. There will be a little more attention givin to him this season as the VIKES other DE Ray EDWARDS left in Free agency.

8. John ABRAHAM COLUMBIA SC COCKS PRIME TIMES HOUSE: Many thought...OK after the initial SIZZLE there will be a FIZZLE as ABRAHAM will have nothing left on the back end for the DIRTY BIRDS. Well last season was a resurrection as the BIRDS FLEW so did ABRAHAM. In the MOLD of a Peter BOULWARE.....Shaun PHILLIPS Type......J A can get it done. A specialized pass rusher that's it. Doesn't play the run to well and isn't asked to do so very often. He is ACE RELIEVER for the FALCONS D as the SANDMAN is for the BRONX BOMBERS.

9. Aaron SMITH Northern COLORADO STEEL CITY: in the FAMOUS 3-4 Scheme that the STEELERS Run when healthy this is a DOMINANT DUDE. Injuries have kinda of caught up with him but with 13 years in the league he can play the run better than anyone in that 3-4. look for SMITH to be back to his old tricks after missing most all more than half of the season and the PLAYOFFS and Super Bowl.

10. Jason BABIN the MAC Western MICHIGAN the LINC PHILLY: REUNITED by PEACHES and HERB...that's what the EAGLES hope they will get from BABIN. He spent his first couple seasons with the EAGLES before the TITANS picked him up. A little bit of him and insurance for the oft-injured DE TRENT COLE. BABIN should work out fine for the EAGLES an excellent Pass-Rush Specialist and above average in the run. Meanwhile that PECHES and HERB REUNITED....to the tune of 5 Years $30 Million......REUNITED......and it FEELS So GOOD.......MUSIC........REUNITED and it's UNDERSTOOD..........OK.......OFF AIR.
