Reds Starter Mike Leake didn't pitched well as he went five innings allowing three runs on six hits. The problem is he had little margin for error facing the Redbirds Adam Wainright. Wainright went seven innings allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out seven. After Leake left the Ball game the Redbirds jumped all over the Red Legs Pen for six runs on ten hits. The Redbirds Hitting Stars were Holliday, Freese, Molina, Craig, and Jay as they all get two base knocks. Jay, Molina, Freese, and Holliday also had a two bagger with their two knocks. Redbirds move up four games on the Reds and a Show leading 40-21 record. The Reds fall back to 36-25 and a tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Speaking of the Buccos they get a 'Throwback" Performance from Lefty Francisco Liriano as he blanked the Cubbies through seven string on just two knocks and eight strikeouts. Liriano's counterpart Travis Wood pitched well enough to win its just he had no run support. Wood allowed just one run on four hits in 6 1/3 while striking out six. Buccos SS Jordy Mercer and Backstop Russell Martin did the damage for the Pirates as they move into a tie with the Cubbies.

In a crucial series and I know its the beginning of June but the Rays and O's are vying to get top the top of the heap in the AL East. Rays take round one as they get a solid performance on the bump from Chris Archer. Arch went seven innings and allowing just one run on two hits while striking out just two. The O's Jason Hammel allowed just two runs in 6 and 2/3 and that was enough for the Rays. Hammel gets touched up for his two in the bottom of the 7th frame by Rays CF Desmond Jennings on a 2-run blast. The rays move to 33-27 just 1.2 game behind the 34-27 O's.
