The September AL Power Rankings and the Plot thickens on the Junior Circuit as the Oakland A's have come from almost the Bottom since All-Star Break and have put themselves within arm's reach of the AL West leading Texas Rangers.
The Bronx Bombers on the other hand look for some reinforcements as A-Rod is due off the DL any day now and the Yankees Starting Pitching needs to step up Big Time. The O's have a Surge and Confidence stemming from their Skip Showalter and their Performance this past Weekend in the Bronx Zoo. The Rays are Only 3.5 back of the Bombers in 3rd Place in the AL East.
The Tigers sweep a 3-Game Set vs the AL Central leading Pale Hose an now they are both tied for the Central Division. Nothing like September Baseball and the Race for the Pennants.
AL Power Rankings September 2012
1. RANGERS (79-54)
2. Swingin' A's (76-57)
3. Bronx Bombers (76-57)
4. Orioles (74-59)
5. Tigers (72-61)
AL Wild Card
1. SWINGIN' A's (76-57)
2. Orioles (74-59)
3. Rays (73-61)
4. Tigers (72-61)
5. Pale Hose (72-61)
The Power Rankings have the Rangers on Top having the Best Record in the AL and playing steady at the Top of the AL West. The Red-Hot Athletics are playing better than anyone including the Rangers as they sit at the 2 Spot. The Bronx Bombers are sliding at the Wrong Time and the O's and Rays seem to have their Peepers on the AL East instead of the Wild Card Play-In Game. We will see what the Tigers do with a Little Mo.
The AL Wild Card Picture is clear and if the A's keep Winning and don't catch the Rangers they will host the AL One Game Wild Card Play-In Game. The O's and Rays are trying to avoid that nonsense by tracking down the Yankees. The Tigers and Pale Hose are playing a 2-Man Game and the Tigers sent the Chi Sox a Huge Message moving forward.
