The St. Louis Cardinals came into the 'Burgh with a game lead and leave town tied as that's how you draw it up. If they would have lost on "Get Way" Day Today they leave two games back...not good at all. The redbirds avoid the sweep at the hands of Zoltan and Buccos Nation by hammering the Bucs 7-1.

The Redbirds made sure they gave their man on the hill early run support to get him comfortable as the Redbirds out up a crooked three in the first off of Buccos Starter Kris Johnson. The Left-hander made his Pro-Debut Today and the Pirates wanted to see what the young Southpaw had. Well for a team that hasn't been over the .500 mark since 1992 no more Science Projects morons. Buccos Nation needs a Winner as the "Men of Steel" (Steelers) and Team Happy Feet (Pens) keep the 'Burgh more than happy year around. Buccos need an October Trip...real talk!

The Redbirds then tack on a crooked two in the 3rd and the 6th to roll credits on the Buccos and the sweep. Redbirds Starter Joe Kelly was just what Redbird Nation ordered on Sunday going six allowing one run on four hits while striking out five and walking two. It was a collective effort as both Freese and Holliday each had two ribbies. New Buccos addition Marlon Byrd gets an RBI for the Bucs.

As we go to press the Redbirds and Pirates are all tied up in the NL Central with the Red Legs three back as they have yet to play their Sunday "Get Away" Day outing. The NL Wild Card will go through the NL Central for sure.

Buccos Front Office quit going to the Farm getting Fresh Vegetables and use the Seasoned or Marinated ones already in the Clubhouse and let Zoltan sort'em out after that! Talking about throwing Gasoline on the fire...Wow!
