The Pittsburgh Pirates will be in the "Fight for October" to get to the 2K13 Fall Classic but they don't want to back in. The Pirates are playing this seek like they should on October-Hardball Mode and nothing else and why not. The Pirates escape game one 2-1 over the Cubbies as things like they do around this time got real interesting in the late innings.

Buccos Starter Charlie Morton brought his A-Game to the Bump as he went seven with no turbulence and clear innings. Mort allowed zero runs on three hist as he gave out just one free pass and struck out five. As Morton left with a one run lead provided by a Solo Bomb off the Maple of Pirates Second Baseman Neil Walker in the first Fake Buccos Set-Up Man/Closer B Mark Melancon entered the game in the 8th. Melancon immediately gave the lead up on a run-scoring single off the Ash of Cubs Pinch-Hitter Donnie Murphy.

Then in the top of the 9th like only late September Hardball can produce Pirates Left Fielder Starling Marte goes Solo Shot for the Game-Winner and the Buccos stay tied with the Red Legs as they beat the Amazins' in ten on the Ohio. Buccos Captain Save-A-Game Jason Grilli gets back in the saddle and records the Save. On the Cubs Front Starter Jeff Samardzija went six an allowed that first inning bomb by Walker.

Pirates still tied with the Red Legs and both are two back of the Redbirds as they beat the Nats 4-3 in the Lou.
