The St. Louis Cardinals wasted no time with the Colorado Rockies beating them 11-4. The Cards compiled some 18 hits as Matt Holliday went 4 for 4 with three ribbies as he also went Two-Run HR. That was more than enough for Redbirds Starter Joe Kelley as he pitched five scoreless innings to get the "W". The Redbirds now back into first as the Buccos lose to the 'Dres again.

Speaking of the Buccos they are having a real tough time with the San Diego Padres and no need for a Power Outage now. The 'Dres get a 5-2 victory at PNC as 'Burgh Sports is starting to take a hit of late. Pirates Starter Jeff Locke takes the loss as he gets roughed up through five. The 'Dres big blow came in the 3rd as 'Dres 2B Jedd Gyorko goes Three-Run Job of Locke as San Diego never relinquished the lead after that. The Pirates fall a game behind the Redbirds as the Red Legs move within a 1.5 games.

The Red Legs took full advantage of the loss by the Pirates as the only thing they can control is their Clubhouse. Cincy puts it on the 'Stros by the Skunk Score of 10-0. The Red Legs started early and often putting up crooked fours in the 1st and the 4th. All that was highlighted by a Jay Bruce Granny in the 4th as the Red Legs move within 1.5 games of the Buccos. Red Legs Starter Mike Leake goes eight scoreless innings allowing just five hits. They are still 2.5 games behind the Redbirds of Baseball Town USA.

NL Central Madness won't stop until the fist week of October...believe it!
