The Chicago White Sox already in the hole in the AL Central came into today's action 0-4 and looking for newly-acquired RHP and former North Siders by way of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Jeff Samardzija to play "Redeem Team"!

To Samardzija's credit after allowing that 2nd inning with the Twinkies putting up a crooked four he pitched well. Minnesota in that 2nd frame put up two doubles, two singles, and a three-bagger as all that accounted for four runs and a 4-0 lead for the Twinkies after 1 and 1/2 frames.

The Sox came right back with a crooked two in the bottom half of the frame highlighted by Adam LaRoche's solo blast and Connor Gillaspie's run-scoring single. South Siders in the 3rd put up another run on an RBI single by Avisall Garcia making it 4-3 Twinkies. Throw in a Geovany Soto solo bomb in the 4th we were tied at four.

Minnesota's Starter Mike Pelfrey slowly but surely fell apart allowing four runs through five on seven hits as he struck out two giving up those two solo home runs. Samardzija settled down going seven allowing eight hits and four runs as he struck out six with no free passes which helped him immensely in the later frames.

Sox then jumps on the Twinkies Pen as Sox Pinch-Hitter J.B. Shuck delivers an RBI Single with the Sox trying to get greedy as Gillaspie was thrown out following the Ramirez run.

Sox new Captain Save-A-Game David Robertson from the Bombers goes 1-2-3 in the 9th striking out the side and the Pale Hose move to 1-4 picking up win #1 of 2015 as the Twinkies fall to 1-4...
