The Chicago Cubs hit the Pittsburgh Pirates pitching hard again as the North Siders take the first two of a three-piece at the "Friendly Confines" on Tuesday Night. Tonight it was LHP Travis Wood with the honors as he gets through troubled 4th frame to grab his 2nd victory of the 2015 season 6-2.

The Cubs offense supplied Wood early and often Addison Russell doubled home Starlin Castro in the 3rd making it 1-0 Cubbies as Junior Lake moves to 3rd. Then Dexter Fowler singles home both Lake and Russell making it 3-0 as Jeff Locke would get some much-needed run support at the top of the 4th.

With Andrew McCutchen on 1st and one out Starling Marte takes Wood deep for a two-run blast making it 4-2 Cubbies. Wood would settle down after that going seven strong allowing five hits and two runs giving up that two-run blast and striking out nine Pirates.

The North Siders would come right back in the bottom half of the 4th with two more runs on Kris Bryant and Castro RBI singles making it 6-2 Cubs and that would be you final. Locke would be saddled with the "L" going 3 2/3 frames giving up six runs (5 ER) on eight hits as he walked three and struck out five.

The Cubbies move to 12-7 while the Pirates fall to 11-10 as we get Bucs Ace Gerrit Cole versus Cubs Kyle Hendricks...at 8:05pm ET "Hump Day" night on "Get Away Day".
