It was bound to happen and fittingly enough #43 in Black and Yellow retires the same off-season as one Brett Keisel. One is going to the Canton but both embodies that Steelers Football Lore over the last decade and change.

Troy will leave leading the Steelers in a few categories but one he will always lead in was #43's Football Instincts were 2nd to none. Where do the Steelers go from here as Shamarko Thomas has yet to stay healthy enough to get a gauge on him and maybe the Steelers will move up to grab 'Bama Safety Landon Collins although I feel he is not worth moving up to get.

This day for Steelers Nation was coming and admittedly probably from #43 his play had dramatically fell off almost in the Three Rivers. Yes there is a time for everything but retiring now was the best for both parties and the Steelers have ample enough time to grab another Safety via the 2015 Draft as there is only one plug and play player in Collins. They will also try via free agency one must assume...
