The Dallas Mavericks go Nip and Tuck with the Portland Trailblazers in the Rose Garden turned Moda Center and hang in their long enough to leave Rip City with a 108-106 "W". It was a long "J": by Mavs Prized-Free Agent Pick Up Monta "Mississippi Lightning" Ellis at the buzzer for the game-winner. The Win brings the Mavs current Win Streak to three and the Blazers fall for only their 2nd time in ten games.

The Mavs get "Vintage" Night from their Favorite Bubble Gum DIRK-iliscious Nowitzki as he gets  Mavs-High 28 to go along with seven assist and six boards. Monta added 22 points and Mavs super-efficient PG Jose Calderon nets 15 on 7 of 10 from the field and seven helpers. The Mavs only committed 12 turnovers but was out rebounded by +14 and was -11 from the line. They won because they had more points in the paint than the Blazers.

Rip City gets 32 pints from 2nd-year stud PG Damian Lillard, 22 points from smooth SF Nicolas Batum, 19 and 13 from L-Train, and 14 and 14 from Robin Lopez. The Blazers did everything right in this one but protect the paint. They had their chances in the end but couldn't cash in. Rip City falls to 17-4 and the Mavs move to 13-8 and have things figured out.

Note: Mavs started undersized PF DeJuan Blair at Center and he chipped in with 15 points and eight boards.
