It didn't take long for the "Magician" New Raptors and former Denver Nuggets GM Masai Ujiri to get things moving in the right direction for the Raptors. He wasted no time as we are barley in December and a little over a month in the season he has pulled off yet another Big-Time Trade.
Ujiri sent Raptors Star SF "Rudy the Raptor" Gay to #ForeverPurple of Sac Town along Center Aaron Gray and PF Quincy Acy. The Dinosaurs gets in return SF John Salmons, PG Greivis Vasquez, PF Patrick Patterson, and PF/C Chuck Hayes. Vasquez and Patterson have Team Options on their deals in the 2014-15 season as Ujiri gets Expiring Contracts and some much-needed Cap Relief.
Masai if you don't remember pulled off the huge Carmelo Anthony Trade sending the "Bully" to Gotham City along with Denver Native Chauncey "Mr. Big Shot" Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, and Renaldo Balkman. The Nugs get in return some of their key nucleus now in Wilson Chandler, Danillo Gallanari, Timofey Mozgov, and Ray Felton who is back with the Knicks. Ujiri has the propensity to send a Big-Name packing for Valuable Pieces and its his Vision he believes in and the Raptors maybe in their best hands ever. That Trade with the Knicks in the 'Melo Deal has the Nugs Roster set with solid Pieces all over.
We will have to wait in time to see how this trade effects the Raptors but they are definitely moving ahead with a Nucleus of Big Jonas Valanciunas, DeMar Derozan, Amir Johnson, and Kyle Lowry and rightfully so. Building around a young Big like the Lithuanian Valanciunas is a smart move as he is starting to show sings and he needs to touches.
It's a "Raptor's World" with Masai Ujiri one of the best Front Office Minds in the Logo behind it...
Note: The Kroenke Family (Nuggets/Rams/Avalanche Owners among others) are known to low-ball their Execs and Ujiri was one of the lowest if not the lowest paid GM in the Logo for the Nugs. The Raptors nearly tripled his Salary and he is worth every darn penny!
