The Chicago Sky played about as well as you could play coming from a Home-Cooked Meal instead of out of the Motel vs a game Phoenix Mercury Squad. The Sky trailed by as many as nine late in the 4th frame then made a run like only the 2013 Sky Version can and then it happened from guess who....

Sky All-Star Rook Wing Forward Elena Delle Donne took a short 10-foot "J" over the Defense and Bottom...Sky win 70-68 as the Rook has just sealed the WNBA Rookie of the Year 2013 and maybe a 1st Team All-WNBA Seat. The Sky hold the Mercury to an eight point 4th frame as Delle Donne had 18 points and six rebounds. Sky Shooting Guard Epiphany Prince led the Sky with 21 points and Sylvia Fowles added 13 points and twelve rebounds.  Not making any excuses for the Mercury but All-World Mercury Guard Diana Taurasi was not with the team as she was serving a suspension. The Mercury was led by Wing Forward Candace Dupree's 15 points and six rebounds.

The Sky moves to 23-9 and that September 19th Date right it down as the Sky will be hosting their first Home Playoff game. Next Up on Friday the 13th the Atlanta Dream and their Stars Angel McCoughtry and Erica de Souza.

Note: 2013 WNBA #1 Overall Pick Brittney Griner had 6 points and three rebounds
