The Arizona Cardinals fended off "Splash Plays" from Lions QB Matthew Stafford and WR Calvin "MEGAtron" Johnson to get a Rashard Mendenhall score late to beat the Lions 25-21. Both Palmer and Stafford made plays but it was the Defensive Plays as both the Lions and Cards ran back Pick 6's. Both Teams move to 1-1 in 2013. MEGAtron had six grabs for 116 yards and two TDs.
The Silver and Black beat the Jags in the Black Hole 19-9 as Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor continues to impress with his legs and arm. But it wasn't Pryor that was overly impressive as Raiders RB Run DMC Darren McFadden ran for 129 yards on nineteen totes and that is a Raiders Recipe for putting them W's in the right column. Jags RB Mo-Jones Drew aka Pocket Hercules went down with an apparent injury. Jags QB Chad Henne played well but they couldn't get the Big Play going all day. The Raiders are 1-1 as the Jags look headed towards the Jadeveon Clowney Sweepstakes and that is no bad omen.
The New Orleans Saints are doing it with timely "Splash Plays" within the Offense as Lead Man Sean Payton is back but it doesn't stop there. The Saints beat the Bucs in Tampa 16-14 on a last second FG but it's all about that Who Dat "D" whose been keeping Teams of the field and out of the Red Zone. Brees threw for 300 plus and can do that in his sleep as he was picked off twice. Bucs QB Josh Freeman needs a vote of confidence as he looks like a QB playing looking over his shoulder. The "Muscle Hamster" Bucs RB Doug Martin had 29 carries for 144 yards as he did his part. The Bucs are winning the close ones but if that "D" continues to play like that..the Saints will be a force in the NFC moving forward. Freeman has to be on a short leash and I dare the Bucs to put in Rookie Mike Glennon.
Peyton goes 3-0 versus Lil bro Eli and this one got ugly quickly in the 3rd frame. With the score just 17-16 Broncos in the 3rd frame United in Orange and Peyton Manning scored 21 unanswered to go up 38-16 in a New York Minute. The G-Men have two losses and in those losses ten turnovers and that will not get it done. The NFC East was supposed to go through the G-Men or 'SKins and maybe even the Cowboys. All four NFC East Teams went 0-4 today vs the AFC West...ouch! Both Mannings threw for 300 plus but Eli threw four to the Broncos Revamped Secondary.
