The St. Louis Cardinals have started the 2013 season where they left off the 2012 season and they again  are atop the NL Central by 2 plus games. Not to be out done is 2012 NL Central Winner the Red Legs of Cincy along with 2012 1st half surprise the "Buccos" of Pittsburgh.

The Redbirds are doing with excellent starting pitching from the top of their rotation in Lance Lynn and Adam Wainright. The focus will be on who sloes for the Redbirds and can that Pen sustain losing Closer Motte for 2013. They are getting plenty of Offense from a balanced attack led by NL Top 10 Hitter by averages and the 2nd best Back Stop in the Show Yadier Molina (.333 2 HR 20 RBI).

The Cincinnati Red for the most part are right there as they have some ups and down with the starting rotation. What the Reds fear is losing Ace RHP Johnny Cueto for 2013 and if he is gone for the Year that is a huge void on that Staff and Team missing. The Reds will hit there is no doubt about that led by Clubhouse Leaders 2B Brandon Phillips and Joey Votto. Votto is having a nice bounce back season as he is #2 (.349 6 HR 20 RBI) in Average on the Senior Circuit as we go to press. They need Aroldis Chapman (3-2 with 8 SV and 30 K w/9 BB while allowing 3 Bombs) to be more consistent in closing as he has let a few get away late.

The Buccos started out hot last season and then by the Mid-Summers Classic they had fell into 3rd place behind both the Redbirds and Red Legs. Now the Youngsters (McDonald, Locke, and Rodriguez) from the Bump are a year older and wiser and they have a Star in the making in LF Starling Marte. Marte (.305 5 HR 17 RBI 33 Runs 45 Ks) is a nice piece to go with Mr. McCutcheon who mans Center. Can the Buccos Starting Rotation led by Vet RHP A.J. Burnett are a combined 15-9 with James McDonald struggling with a robust 5.59 ERA in six starts. The Pirates keep that 5-Man Rotation in tact and consistent they have a chance in the Central.
