The Medal Count Leaders are really starting to show as we are entering the halfway point of the games of the 30th Olympiad. The Unites States of America, China, and the Host Country Great Britain has been dominant.

The Sports they have dominated collectively have been Swimming, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Cycling, Diving, Rowing, and even Weightlifting. The English have been dominant in Cycling and Rowing, the Chinese in Diving, Gymnastics, and Swimming and the US in Swimming, Gymnastics, and sprinkle in some Rowing and Shooting.

The 2012 London Summer Games Top 10 MEDAL Count through August 4, 2012:

1. USA 54.... 26 Gold
2. People's Republic of China 53...25 Gold
3. Great Britain 29....14 Gold
4. Russian Federation 28....3 Gold
5. Japan 24....2 Gold

6. France 22....8 Gold
7. Germany 21....5 Gold
8. Australia 20....1 Gold
9. Republic of Korea 17....9 Gold
10. Italy 13.....5 Gold


The USA has been dominant in Gold as well as Overall with China, Great Britain, and the US having 50% or close to 50% in Gold Medals of the overall Medals.

Now with Track and Field starting look for the US to continue to add to their Gold and Overall Total and some new Countries added to the Medal Count by Monday Evening.
