Taking a look at the Top Players in the American League in On Base Percentage and Slugging Percentage it is not Baseball Science to figure out if you can keep both of these Numbers at the Top of the League you might be an MVP or at worst an All-Star.

The Top 15 in the American League at Getting on the Base Path and Hitting the Hardball Late August 2012 is sponsored by Hitting for Average, taking Walks, picking My Spots, and Raking when need be..."My OPS brings all the Accolades to the Yard".

The AL's Top 15 in On Base % + Slugging % = OPS for Late August 2012:

* Denotes 2012 AL MVP Candidate

1. Trout HALOS CF 1.014 *
2. Miggy C. TIGERS 3B .980 *
3. Encarnacion 'JAYS DH .951
4. Hamilton RANGERS LF .928 *
5. Prince TIGERS 1B  .924 *

6. Willingham TWINS LF .916
7. Paulie PALE HOSE 1B .904

13. Trumbo HALOS RF .886
14. Pujols HALOS 1B/DH .870
15. A. Jones ORIOLES CF .852

Look at the Possible 2012 AL MVP Candidates with the Asterisk next to their name. These Players are Tops in a lot of AL Offensive Categories and this Stat is the Tell Tale Sign that you belong in the Conversation of the Elite Offensive Players in the AL and the Show.

Unless there is a Drop Off I don't see happening the #1 and #2 on this List will fight it out for 2012 AL MVP. Trout of the halos is also a Shoe in for AL Rookie of the Year 2012.

The Halos and Tigers each have 3 Players in the Top 15 and both Teams are right in the middle of the AL Wild Card with the Tigers just a Snail off of the South Siders of Chicago for the AL Central lead.
