The AL MVP Race 2012 is like Shopping at Super WAL-MIZZLE..which way do you go? Not talking any of the Pitchers in the AL like the RAYS' Price or the HALOS' Weaver...just MVP from the Field and the Dish.

The Halos' CF and Rook Mike Trout has staked his claim to be in the Mix. Not to be out done is Miggy in Comerica with a Texas Leaguer of the Motor City Prince. Then there is the Bronx Zoo 2-Step of Robbie and Good Ole' #2 at Short Stop. How about Mr. Adam Dunn of the  South Siders if we were not counting Batting Average he would be a Baseball Cleat In. Last but not least the "Natural" of the Ballpark at Arlington...Rangers OF Josh Hamilton.

The Top 5 AL MVP Candidates Mid-August 2012...is sponsored by There will be some falling off this List and some added to this List by Labor Day Weekend...Trust Me on that Assessment.

Note: Numbers in ( ) are AL Rank

1. MIGGY Cabrera 3B Tigers .329 Avg (#2 AL) 31 Bombs (Tied for #2 AL) 104 Ribbies (#1 AL)  .984 OPS (#3 AL) 80 Runs (#3 AL) 155 Hits (#2 AL): I would say it is all about the Prince protecting Miggy in the Tigers Line Up but it is more than that. Cabrera can just flat-out Rake there is nothing else to it. He is my "Pick to Click" for the 2012 AL MVP...sorry Ken "Hawk" Harrelson and the Chi-Sox Nation.

2. Mike TROUT OF Halos .340 Avg (#1 AL)  22 Bombs (Tied for #17 AL) 66 Ribbies (#20 AL) .996 OPS (#2 AL) 38 Bags (#1 AL) 93 Runs (#1 AL) 133 Hits (Tied for #11 AL): Trout carried the Halos along with Trumbo..."TnT" of LAA until El Hombre got His Groove Back. The Most Impressive Stat is he has 22 Bombs from the Lead off Spot in the Line Up. He has done it all for the Halos in 2012 and just turned 21 a few weeks ago. Halos Owner Arte Moreno...Check Book Please and he is Halos Home Grown.

3. Robbie CANO 2B Bronx Zoo .308 Avg (#9 AL)  25 Bombs (Tied for #10 AL) 68 Ribbies (#16 AL) .916 OPS (#8 AL) 74 Runs (#7 AL) 141 Hits (#3 AL): Yes Teammate Derek Jeter has been doing Damage and at that Age but Robbie has been more Productive as far as a Runs and Ribbies. Cano is the Next in Line to pass the Bronx Zoo Throne to as the Swing from Left Side of the Dish gets no prettier.

4. Josh HAMILTON OF Rangers .290 Avg (#22 AL) 34 Bombs (Tied for #1 AL) 101 Ribbies (#2 AL) .950 OPS (#5 AL) 75 Runs (#5 AL) 122 Hits (#24 AL): He tailed off in July only to pick it up again in August but it might be too late. He was the MVP all the way up to Mid-June then the Collapse. He still has time to get his Average up and the Rangers are in the #2 Hole in the AL as far as Overall Records mainly because of the Natural.

5A. Derek JETER SS Bronx Zoo .319 Avg (#4 AL) 10 Bombs 40 Ribbies .788 OPS (#34 AL) 72 Runs (#11 AL) 160 Hits (#1 AL): The fact that at Jeter's Age and he still leads the AL in Hits is remarkable which also tells me he plays Everyday.  The Average is above .300 and he is among the Leaders in Runs. #2 will get some consideration and the Yanks are in what else..1st Place in the AL.

5B. PRINCE Fielder 1B Tigers .311 Avg (#8 AL) 22 Bombs (Tied for #17 AL) 88 Ribbies (#4 AL) .924 OPS (#6 AL) 65 Runs (#20 AL) 135 Hits (#8 AL): Miggy has been on fire and that is because of his Body Guard in the Line Up Prince Fielder. To have a Player knocking in 88 Runs and the Player in front of him knocking in 104...what's the 5 Hole's numbers?

Still in the Race and might see you Labor Day Weekend 2012....

Joe MAUER C Twins
Adam DUNN 1B/DH Pale Hose
Edwin ENCARNACION DH 'Jays
Alex RIOS OF Pale Hose
Jered WEAVER RHP Halos
