You saw him at the University of Southern California as a hard-hitting, non-stop motor of a SAFETY. A can't miss prospect who was a real gem and the STEELERS knew it drafting him.

The 2-time All-American at USC, the first since Offensive Tackle Tony Boselli, went 16th pick to the STEELERS in the 2003 NFL DRAFT.The funny part about the STEELERS drafting Troy was that he was 2nd option as the STEELERS had thier Eyes on Buccaneers and Florida STATE All-American Safety Dexter JACKSON, who was just coming off of an MVP performance in the BUCS Super Bowl Win. At the last minute JACKSON signed with the Arizona cardinals and now you know the rest of the story.

For the PITTSBURGH STEELERS Troy has been nothing short of spectacular and Defensive Coordinator and 2010 Hall of Famer Dick LeBEAU knew he had a Toy never seen before. Using the infamous 3-4 Zone-Blitz Troy lines up everywhere but offsides and Safety counterpart RYAN CLARK follows what ever Troy does he does the OPPOSITE.....a match made in STEELER Heaven.

Troy recieved 17 1st place votes edging Packers OLB Clay Matthews III by 2 (15) and STEELERS Teammate OLB James HARRISON was 3rd with 8 votes.

Troy effects the game in so many ways it is absoultely ridiculous. FILM STUDY will do you no good when trying to account for what TROY does on a down by down basis.

Teammate JAMES HARRISON says the Defense is a Average Defense but an A-grade Defense with TROY on it. EX-Steeler and now JETS WR SANTONIO Holmes called TROY the best he has ever seen and played with. His NFL Peers just marvel at what TROY does an how he does it.

HEAD & SHOULDERS had 63 tackles and 7 picks but it's his BIG PLAYS that you don't see on the STAT Sheet that are the HIGHLIGHTS of a Defensive Player of the YEAR. Troy is the 6th STEELER to win the award.

The Voting was loaded with the best of the best as the official AP Voting went like this:

1. Troy POLAMALU S STEELERS 17 Votes

2. Clay MATTHEWS III OLB PACKERS 15 Votes

3. James HARRISON OLB STEELERS 8 Votes

4. Juluis PEPPERS DE BEARS 6 Votes

5. Brain URLACHER LB BEARS 2 Votes

6. Ed REED S RAVENS 1 Vote

7. Haloti NGATA NT RAVENS 1 Vote

What Domination from the 2 most physically playing Divisions in the NFL.......4 players from AFC NORTH and 3 from the NFC NORTH............need the BLUEDUDE say more.
