The Detroit Pistons and New Lead Man Mo Cheeks are out the gate slowly for the 2013-14 season. Today though they put their best foot forward and their feet on the gas in the Motor City to lap the visiting Seventy-Sixers of Broad Street Philly more than a few times for a 115-100 "W" and it wasn't that close.
The Pistons used a 70-point first frame to hold a 70-46 1st half advantage as they cruised from there. Pistons Man-Child "Mr. Drummond of 213" went looking after the Kids like he and the Pistons like only he can with 31 points as he collected nineteen Oranges off the glass. Both J-Smoove 5 and the "Motor City Lefty" B-Jennings each added 20 points with Jennings also waiting on 12 tables. Pistomns reinforcement Supreme "Stuck 206" added 17 off the bench. The Pistons missed 16 of 39 free throws or that final would have been and should have been worse.
The Sixers get 24 points from Small-Forward "Thad-Ex" from Memphis by way of the Ramblin' Wreck of Tech in the 404. Evan Turner added 20 points but all that was a formality and stat sheet stuffing and window dressing down 24 when Pistons Nation hit to concourses for concessions. Deeeeetroit Basketball moves to 7-10 and the Sixers after a hot start falls to 6-12.
Note: watch Sixers SF Thaddeus Young who has been the subject of Trade Rumors and he can flat-out bring it on both ends.
360 Degrees Young played AAU Hoops for the Famed Atlanta Celtics and he teamed up with J-Smoove 5 (Pistons) and Dwight Howard (Rockets) and former 1st Rounder Javaris Crittendon (Lakers ) on that Team back in those Scholastic Days.
