The Oakland Athletics go up 3.5 games on the Texas Rangers and they needed that 1/2 game as guess who they get on Friday...the Texas Rangers in Arlington. The A's took Tuesday's Game on the chin and then went "CRIME SCENE" on the Twinkies on Wednesday with an 18-3 barrage. Today was a little bit easier as with the Rangers idle and on the Charter headed to East Bay the A's took care of Biz on "Get Away" Day.

Behind eight runs on eleven hits and a Gem by A's Pitcher AJ Griffin the Athletics take the rubber game 8-2 vs the Twinkies at the Big Box Store...Target Stadium. "Griff" went seven strong allowing one run on two hits as he issued a free pass to go along with striking eight Twinkie Hitters out. "Griff had plenty of Run Support as the A's get a two-run smash from OF Josh Reddick. They also get a combined 4 for 10 from OF Yoenis Cespedes and SS Jed Lowrie with three ribbies and a run scored. A's OF Chris Young also went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

The A's are locked in as they are putting some distance between the Rangers and Texas has to sweep or take two of three to do any damage and we are in Mid-September after Sunday's game.
