Now before we get into the ROSTER the 2011-12 Duke BLUE DEVILS have been anointed as one of the FAVORITES in the ACC along with UNC but a Nice Pick to get to the 2012 Final Four. Also added to the Staff this season and Former Duke ALL ACC Player and OKLAHOMA SOONERS Head Man Jeff CAPEL.

The Roster is filled with your typical DUKE Roster...HIGH-Profile HS Players with Solid All-STATERS and Top 100's. This season is a little bit more anticipated than other for the SIMPLE FACT the BLUE DEVILS have one of the more heralded High School Players in recent memory to join them.

Austin RIVERS a Consensus Top 5 in everyone's publication and does the name ring a bell. The middle son of Current Boston CELTICS Coach Glenn "DOC" RIVERS. The OLDER RIVERS was quite a talent as he was a BIG MAC in 1980 out of Maywood ILLINOIS' PROVISO EAST HS Fame......also the home of Michael FINLEY and Shannon BROWN to name a few. DOC was also a big-time player up the street from CHICAGO in MIlwaukee Wisconsin where he attended MARQUETTE University. DOC had an extensive Pro career but has had a better NBA Coaching Career as he has coached the MAGIC and the GREEN TEAM of date.

Son AUSTIN is a magnificient talent and a MIX of PG and Shooting G. At about 6-4 and 200 EL BEES.....the younger RIVERS has unlimited range, excellent handle, very athletic or athletic enough with bounce, and can get to the rim with an array of moves.

He will join another heralded Freshman in PG Quinn COOK. COOK gives Coach K and his staff the luxury of PLAYING CURRY and RIVERS off the ball and at their natural positions as well as DAWKINS. COOK has an excellent feel for the game, HIGH Basketball IQ, and good range as a shooter.

The AFOREMENTIONED CURRY has good genes as well as FATHER DELL was one of the best NBA Shooters in the last 30 years and starred in BLACKSBURG for the HOKIES of VA TECH. Seth's older brother is STEPHEN CURRY of the Golden STATE WARRIORS. CURRY of course can shoot it from deep and is developing a MIDDLE game and dribble -drive game to open more options for himself....only a JUNIOR.

Then on the BASELINE you have the PLUMLEE TRIO......YES.......they are all BROTHERS and from WARSAW Indiana and attended Christ School NC. All 3 of these gentleman can RUN, JUMP, BLOCK, REBOUND, and are very Physical at the point of attack. They give the BLUE DEVILS a unique ability to Get out and run with their BIGS running to.

The more polished of the PLUMLEE'S is probably NBA-Ready MASON. He reminds the BLUEDUDE of AK47 of the UTAH JAZZ forward Andrei KIRILENKO. MASON can defend the post and his timing of Blocking shots is remarkable as well as get out and FINISH Above the RIM Emphatically.

Other PLAYERS to watch for the DUKIES is Freshman Mike GBINJIE from VEE AA and Alex MURPHY from Rhode Island. GBINJIE is highly touted and should fortify the DUKE WING and some occassional 2 as he is versatile. MURPHY gives them flexibility at the WF 3 and at the 4 helping the PLUMLEE's out.

Looking at DUKE'S Schedule it isn't as challenging as you may think. But their KEY PLAYERS are young so expect some erratic play early on. But the REAL SEASON won't start until they meet their ARCH-RIVAL the TAR HEELS in ACC play.

But 3 things are etched in stone in DURHAM........COACH K getting it in.........Cameron KRAZIES doin' what it do.......and the DUKE HOOP SQUAD taking NO PRISONERS.............and this show isn't CAROLINA BLUE......it's DUKE BLUE and KRZYZEWSKIville rated.
