I was thinking after the huge fiasco at The Ohio State University in the early fall concerning Ohio State Football lead man Urban Meyer I was under the impression this might be the last straw for Urban Meyer coaching at the Ohio State University and maybe coaching all together.

Well after the Ohio State Buckeyes were slotted into play the Washington Huskies in the "Grandaddy of the all" the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on New Years Day 2k19 that's exactly what has transpired. Meyer will retire as he has informed the University Athletic Department and Brass he will step down right after January1st after the Rose Bowl.

Questions will be if how will Urban Meyer's Legacy be characterized at The Ohio State University? Some folks might even go as far back as Bowling Green his first head coaching job then the University of Utah and even to the "Swamp" coaching the Florida Gators. I am not here to judge coach or anyone for the fact of the matter because I don't want to be judged. I tell you this from a football perspective Coach Meyer is up there with the best of them. From recruiting and selling to the X's and O's the "Urban Legend" was top shelf.

Taking a brief look at the Urban Legend's Coaching W-L from Day 1 at BGSU after spending 16 years as an assistant:

URBAN MEYER Head Coach W-L

2001-02 Bowling Green State 17-6

2003-04 Utah 22-2

2005-2010 Florida 65-15 (36-12 SEC)

2012-2018 Ohio State 82-9 (54-4 Big Ten)

2012-2018 vs Michigan Wolverines 7-0

Total W-L as a Lead Man 186-32 that's a Winning Percentage of 85.3%

SEC Winning Percentage 75%

Big Ten Winning Percentage 93.1%

Look that Winning Percentage in both the SEC and Big Ten is off the charts but the Big Ten Winning Percentage in just 7 seasons at 54-4 and a 7-0 clip versus Michigan Wolverines is unthinkable and he leaves having never lost to the Maize and Blue and that's something to hang your hat on.

Looking ahead Urban Meyer will be headed to T.V. and why not he is made for that as well as we all got a quick glimpse of what he can do when the red light was bright between his time leaving Florida and taking a year off before coaching the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes have to be the favorite against the Washington Huskies in the Rose Bowl and there will be some serious tension and anxiety and then some...Good luck Coach in your future endeavors!
