The Pittsburgh Steelers wasted no time in 1992 as they grabbed All-American Right Tackle Leon Searcy from the Miami Florida University Hurricanes from that dominant Dennis Erickson Canes Football Teams.

Searcy (Pictured left at the "U" Coral Gables) joined a team in transition as this was also the first year for Steelers lead man Bill Cowher as the late great Chuck Noll retired after the 1991 season. Searcy didn't play much his rookie season as he played back up right tackle to current Steelers T.V. and Radio Analyst. That O-Line was led by two pro-bowlers in Center and NFL HOF Dermontti Dawson and RG Carlton Haselrig.

Note that Steelers 2nd rounder in the 1992 NFL Draft was a Home Run in Clemson All-American RILB Levon "Built like a Nose Tackle" Kirkland as he went #38 overall. Kirkland backed up David Little and Hardy Nickerson in the middle of Steelers D-Coordinator Dom Capers 3-4 Zone-Blitz Attack.

Searcy would start the next three seasons and would leave in Free Agency in 1996 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. We would go onto lose to the Dallas Cowboys led Jimmy Johnson Team in the Super Bowl in 1996 (1995 Season) 27-17.
