Can Houston Texans DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney recover from Microfracture Surgery of course he can. Will he be the same player he was in College most likely not even close. This surgery has changed some high-profile athletes game for the worse and yes they still played he game at a high-level but had to change their game doing so.

What is Microfracture Surgery(from Orthopedics.about.com):

It is an articular repair surgical technique that works by creating tiny fractures in the underlying bone. This causes new cartilage to develop from a so-called super-clot.

Yes it will take away explosion which is what Clowney's game is all about as he is super-athletic. Now he will have to manufacture that same skill set through hard-work and determination as relying on his gifts will not be there as much as it was.

Some notable players I know who had this and were never the same in NBA players like  Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, and T-Mac. It took away their explosion and quickness as the had to recreate their games.

Recovery time is set to be about 9 months and for the Texans and Clowney it is worth the wait as his rookie campaign was a wash...
