The "Captain" Derek Jeter in his last Opening Day at Yankee Stadium did not disappoint as the "Sandman", Big Andy, and Mr. Posada were all their to watch. The Yanks had the AL East Rival the Baltimore Orioles in town as they start their 1 of 18 Meetings in 2014.

In the bottom of the 3rd the Home Team struck first as Derek Jeter grounded into a Double Play scoring a run in the 3rd. The O's then get one back right back as Adam Jones scores on a Matt Wieters single in the 4th. The Yanks score in the 5th to take a 2-1 on a Yangervis Solarte Single scoring Alfonso Soriano. Derek Jeter than doubled to lead off the 5th and later scored on a Jacoby Ellsbury Single. The O's Pitcher Zach Britton replaced O's Starter Ubaldo Jiminez and he promptly walks a run in with the bases loaded.  The O's then get a run in the 7th to make it 4-2 Yankees and that closed the scoring.

Yankees Starter Hiroki Kuroda (1-1) went 6 1/3 innings allowing eight hits while striking out four giving up two runs. O's Starter Ubaldo Jiminez went 4 2/3 innings giving up four runs on eight hits walking four and striking out five. Jiminez was all over the place with his control as he falls to 0-2 in 2014.  Yanks Captain "Save-A-Game" Shawn Kelly gets the save his first in 2014.

The Captain finished 1 for 4 scoring a run...Yanks move to 4-3 while the O's fall to 2-5.
