The Cubs came into their Three Game Series with the Red Legs not getting terrible Starting Pitching but not hitting and Pitching in unison. The Reds have been up and down as one day they hit and struggle on the bump then the next day vice versa.

Well the Red Legs behind Starting Pitcher Alfredo Simon give him just enough Run Support for Cincy to come away with a 4-1 victory. Simon went six innings allowing just one run on four hits as he struck out three and walked two. The Cubbies Starter Jeff Samardzija wasn't as fortunate as he went seven and gave up three runs on six hits walking two Reds while striking out seven.

The Reds opened up the scoring with a run in the 5th behind a two-bagger by Reds CF Billy Hamilton. Cincy then tacked on two more in the sixth after the Cubs get out of a bases loaded jam allowing just two runs to make it 3-0 Reds. Cubs start a rally in the bottom half of the 7th but only gets one duck across the dish to make it 3-1 Reds. Cincy gets an Insurance Run in the 8th to close the scoring at 4-1.

Red Jonathan Broxton closes the door on the Cubbies in the 9th grabbing his 2nd save. Reds move to 7-9 while the North Siders fall to 4-11.
