The Pirates knew what was at stake and they came right out and laid an egg starting with RHP Charlie Morton. Morton's Line for Sunday's beating...five runs on six hits through an 1 2/3 innings. The Pen didn't do much better but by that time the Redbirds had the sweep in sight as Redbirds Starter Michael Wacha went seven and allowed two hits and no runs.

The Redbirds pounded out nine runs total on their way to 9-2 "W" on twelve hits. Wacha also helped his cause with a two-run single. What a busy time in the Lou as the Rams were hosting the Bird Gang down the street at the Edward Jones Dome. The Buccos only had four hits and the two runs they scored they scored them in the 9th. The Redbirds get RBI's from Carp, Freese, Holliday, Jay, Beltran, and Molina.

The Redbirds lead the Buccos by 1.5 games in the Central. They also lead the Red Legs by two games as the Red Legs try to finish a sweep of their own versus the L.A. Dodgers. Buccos know they need to get back on track as a Series or Two Power Outage could spell gloom and doom.
