JJ Watt of the Houston Texans was names 2012 NFL Defensive Players of the Year and the only surprising thing about it was his Landslide Vote of corralling some 49 1st Place Votes out of a Possible 50 Votes.

Watt (pictured Right) had a Season to remember as he was Two Sacks short of G-Men DE Michael Strahan's 22.5 Sacks Record with 20.5 Sacks. He batted down a Record Number of Pigskins as when he can't get to the QB...the QB won't get it to the WR and that meaning the Pigskin. A Rare Mix of Equally against the Run as he is collecting Red Jerseys. The Texans made the Move of the Year last season letting Former Top Pick "Super Mario" Carolina Red Edition walk to free Agency because they knew what they had in Watt.

Watt's 2012 Numbers

81 Tackles (69 Solo 12 Combined) 20.5 Red Jersey Collections 4 Forced Fumbles 16 Pass Deflections 23 Tackles for Loss

The AP Voting for 2012 NFL Defensive Player of the Year

WATT Texans 49 Votes
Von MILLER Broncos 1 vote

You could make an argument that 49ers Aldon Smith with his 19.5 Red Jersey Collections was right there with Miller as was Seahawks CB Richard Sherman.
