The Seattle Mariners knew they had to do it and it was just a matter of Time as the One Piece they have moving forward is on the Bump and he is a Big-Time Pitcher.
Still sorting out the particulars as we go to Press...the Seattle Mariners will give their Venezuelan-Born Ace Right-Hander Felix "Kid Felix" Hernandez a 12 Zone full of Cashola and make him the Highest-Paid Pitcher in the Show at a whopping 7-Years and $175 Million. The Deal is still not finished but it is close to being finalized from Reports from MLB.com.
Hernandez has been all that and then some as he started at age 19 back in 2005 and is now at Age 26. The M's Franchise has lost its luster a little since Skip Lou Piniella called it quits a few years back. Now they have an Ace to build around and the Mariners are full-steam ahead. The Career Numbers from Kid Felix for the M's:
M's RHP "Kid Felix" Hernandez Career Numbers from 2005-2012
98-76 W-L 3.22 ERA
238 Gms Started 23 Complete Games 1620 1/3 Innings Pitched
1484 Hits Allowed 1487 Ks 3.10 K/BB
Those are the Big Numbers from Kid Felix as one would think at Age 26 he will only get better. The One Thing I worry about with Hernandez is that you hope he doesn't get a Tired Arm from all those Innings pitched from his younger days. Like M's Ace in the early part of the Last Decade Freddy Garcia.
The M's Deal is imminent and Kid Felix will be the Biggest Contract ever in the Show....
