Thy broke ground about 2 years ago and before you know it the New York will have it's 2nd team.....the Brooklyn Nets and the new BARCLAYS Center.

Ebbett's Field in the Flatbush Area of Brooklyn last held a team in 1957 and it was "DEM BUMS"..the Brooklyn Dodgers before then owner moved them out West into Chavez Ravine.

Now the Nets will have some kind of Brand and will have a draw and the kind of revenue that new arenas bring like....Suites on Both Levels (Corporate and Public) and modern arena amenities.

Nets Owners Mikhail Prokhorov, Bruce Ratner, and Sean Carter (JAY-Z) have to be elated everything is on time and will open at the end of September 2012.

The BARCLAYS Center was purposely built in New York's most public transited accessible area so that all New Yorkers can get there. It will home to the (NBA) Nets, (NHL) Islanders , and Concerts or Events such as Boxing and Music. The Islanders though will have to wait as their current home the Nassau Coliseum is under contract until the 2015 season.

The name comes from the London England based financial and multinational banking company the Barclays PLC which reportedly paid a record some $400 million for naming rights for 20 years.

Upcoming Events will be.....

Oscar De Le Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions Boxing Match

1st ever Basketball Game in the New Arena will be the Maryland Terrapins and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Also the A-10 announced their Conference Basketball Tourney will be held in the Barclays starting 2013.

The new home to Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus...Disney on Ice....and Champions on Ice

Another event the Nets will love to have in their building is one NBA Point God Deron Williams...the JOKER aka D-Will 8 of New Jersey Drive and if he can land foot in the Barclays his new name would be the JOKER 8 of the Brooklyn Borough.

It will be tough keeping him but the Barclays Center is leverage and D-Will has already said he and his wife love the NY Metro Area. Also what if the Nets get the #1 or #2 pick and it is @AntDavis23 or @GilliesFanPage as in UK's Anthony Davis or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and then couple that with the JOKER 8 of the Brooklyn Borough and the Barclays....now we have a nice draw let alone the new arena.

Only NYC and their #1 TV and Radio Market can get down like this and the Nets will no more empty seats as the Knicks will still do their thing but the Barclays Center will be Hottie Hot....on Fire from jumpstreet.

We're thrilled for the move ... hell, our website was BORN thanks to the Nets moving to Brooklyn, so there's that...

...no, they probably won't be very good next year, and the draw will be the billion-dollar arena and top-level pro sports in our borough.

D-Will may well jump for the greener grass on Cuban's side of the fence... but that offer has to be pretty sweet and the Mavs have to prove they have a plan to run with OKC and LAC and all the young guns -- Dirk and D-Will alone can't do it.

Odds are Williams leaves ... but he may just step back, see the Dallas grass is fading fast, and take his max and #1 market and roll the dice in Brooklyn.
