How would you sum up the NBA in the past decade the 2000s in terms of the Best of the Best. The Lakers won Four and counting Five if you add the 1st Chip in the 1999-2000 season and led by Shaq and Kobe.

Then there is the Tim Duncan led Spurs with 3 Chips in the 2000s with arguably the best Trio ever in the logo in Dunc, Tony, and Manu. What about those Detroit Pistons an derailing those Shaq and Kobe led Lakers going for their 4th in Five seasons.

Then there was that Suns led Squad immensely talented with my favorite All-Nickname Team that could never get to the Finals but was knocking on the door a few times.

DIRKiliscious and the MAVS just got their 1st Chip but they had I thought two shots in the 2000s to get them some Bling.

Let's get a taste of the BEST Duo's, Trio's, and Squads of the 2000s sponsored by....the Spurs Tim Duncan puts 3 Chips up to solidify himself as arguably the Best Power Forward ever and hands down the best ever Spur next to the Originals the Admiral and the Iceman:

Shaq and Kobe L.A. LAKERS: They won 3 chips with this duo and Shaq get his first 3 of 4 Chips and Kobe first 3 of 5 Chips. The Zen Master led this group through the battles with the Kings and Blazers to get to former Laker and then Nets Coach Byron Scott's Squad twice in the Finals. Could they have won more if Shaq and Kobe didn't drama between each other leading to their separation.

Bibby and C-Webb SACtown Kings: If it wasn't for the Lakeshow's Kobe and Shaq the kings might have been representing the West at least twice. Led by Coach Rick Adelman and then Point God turned Knicks Castoff Mike Bibby and Fab Five Alum Chris Webber...the Kings dominated everyone but the Lakeshow when it counted. The Kings and Maloofs' best team ever under their direction.

J-Kidd 5, K-Mart, and R.J. of the N.J. NETS: They dominated the east for about 3 years as J-Kidd did his best work of his career quietly directing New Jersey Drive. They also had a smooth SF then in R.J. of U of A and a #1 Overall NBA Pick in K-Mart of Huggy Bear Fame from Cincy, ohio. The NETS might have won a Chip if it wasn't for the Lakers and the Zen Master Contingent. and/or Dunc and Pops.

The Answer and any one Philadelphia SEVENTY-SIXER: A one-man wrecking crew and if you were in the Spot and he was in there he would have walked right by you unless someone told you to look for him. The toughest pound for pound NBA Players the Bluedude has ever seen and for about 5 full seasons carried those BALLERS on Broad Street and they had the ANSWER at every turn.

FINdawg, NASHty, and DIRty of REUNION Arena..Big D: Before Nash and Dirk became one of the hottest young Duo's in the NBA they ha Michael Finley show them the ropes. FINdawg was a 6-7 highlight reel waiting to happen or a Moneyball from Deep. When the MAVS started to get an identity it was because of these three...the Last to call Reunion Arena Home.

RIP, Ben, SHEED, Tay, and Mr. Big Shot of DEEEEEETROIT Basketball: They surprised the Lakers and Kobe and Shaq but beat them down 4-1 to get Coach Larry Brown a Chip under the direction of Joe D. They also went right back to the Finals the next season and lost 4-3 to Dunc and the Spurs. Arguably the best starting 5 in the 2000s...real talk and went to the Eastern Conference Finals a record 5 times straight.

NASHty, STAT, and the Matrix31 in the Valley of the SUN: They were the Best in the West to never win it. They challenged the Lakers a few times and lost and now looking at it Matrix31 and STAT need NASHty more than NASHty needs them. They still were a fabulous trio to watch and played NO D..none under the direction of Mike D'Antoni aka MDA as Knicks Fans call them.

Shaq and FLASH aka Wade County Miami Heat : Shaq goes to 305 with a Super Soaker in tow and cools off the Heat Followers with their 1st Chip. This was the last time Shaq was that Dominant figure and the coming out party for Dwayne Wade. That Chip came at the Mavs Expense as they were up 3-1 and then the Infamous Dallas Parade Route was unveiled to Shaq and Flash with no Biscayne Blvd. or Ocean Drive.

DUNC, TP8, and Manu with a APP of Coach POPS San Antonio Spurs: They won 3 Chips with this trio vs the Cavs, Pistons, and Nets. Now it looks like they might get another one with that same cast with a thrust of young talent and journeyman veterans. The Spurs would get my vote as the Team of the Decade for the simple fact it is the Same Core Unit.

The Fabulous Duo's and Trio's and Squads of the 2000s and the Lakers and Spurs are both the Teams of the Decade as the Lakers get 4 Chips and the Spurs get 3 Chips.
