The Pittsburgh Pirates out the gate at 4-2 takes the Rubber Game on "Get Away" Day 2-1 as both Starters Adam Wainright for Cards and Edison Volquez for the Pirates had their good stuff working.

The Buccos struck first in the bottom half of the 4th Inning as Neil Walker doubled home "Cutch 22" for the Pirates to take a 1-0 lead. The Redbirds get that one back in the top half of the 6th with Matt Carpenter scoring on a Jon Jay Triple to make it 1-1. Then in the bottom half of the 7th Wainright not wanting to give "El Toro" nothing to hit walks Alvarez as the Dreaded Lead-Off Walk. That walk turned into the winning run as Pirates Backstop Tony Sanchez doubled to center to make it 21- Bucs as that scored stood up.

Cards Wainright (1-1) takes the "L" as he goes seven allowing two runs on five hits walking two and striking out seven Pirates. The Buccos Volquez (ND) didn't figure into the Decision but went 5 2/3 innings allowing three hits and a run striking out four with a Free Pass. Cards managed to get three hits as the Bucs get six.

Bucs move to 4-2 as Redbirds fall to .500 at 3-3...in the NL Central
