The Syracuse Orange was right there for about 33 minutes or so as they played a textbook typical 'Cuse 1st half leading UNC 40-35 at the break. In the end though it was too much 'Heels "Firepower" and excellent Lead Guard play that puts UNC in the winner's circle 93-83 near Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Despite a career-night from 'Cuse Sniper Trevor Cooney getting his inner Gerry McNamara on going for a game-high 28 points. Cooney hitting money ball after money ball and dagger after dagger  has the 'Heels on the ropes in the 1st half.  Then UNC decided to go "Big" and play "Big" and imagine that my "Bigs" are better than your 'Bigs" so we are going to play through the "Bigs"!

All-ACC pre-season pick Brice Johnson and Kennedy Meeks combined for 34 points and nineteen rebounds as the 'Cuse inside had no answer in the 2nd half. Orange "Big" Rakeem Christmas had a night (22 pts 12 rebs 40 mins) but he and Cooney needed one more body on the glass to overcome the 'Heels depth and size and it just wasn't there.

'Heels All-American PG Marcus Paige went for a team-high 22 points and eight helpers as UNC's other PG Nate Britt went for a career-high 17 points including four money balls that helped the 'Heels balance their attack from inside/out!

UNC survived despite committing some 20 turnovers and 15 of those were in the 1st half. They made up for those turnovers by being +15 on the glass and that was big. UNC moves to 7-1 in ACC Play while the 'Cuse falls to 5-3.
