The NL sets a Mid Summers Classic Record by touching up the AL for 5 Runs in the top Half of the 1st Frame. Gigantes OF Melky Cabrera did the most Damage by going 2-3, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs knocked in. He also his a 2-Run Bomb with 2 outs and a Duck on the Pond in the 4th Frame.

Verlander didn't have his A-Game and paid for it as the NL wasted no time sending him to the Showers. Gigantes and NL Starter Matt Cain went a Solid 2 Innings and allowed 1 hit and has a Strikeout. Verlander's Line....Five Runs, 4 Hits, 2 walks and all 9 Batters reached the Plate in the 1st Frame.

The Gigantes OF Cabrera was easily the hitting Star as he continued his torrid Pace and don't be surprised come late September Mr. Cabrera will be a Top 3 Front Runner for NL MVP.  The Brew Crew's OF Ryan Braun also went 2-3 with a run scored and knocked in.

The AL had 6 Different Players get a Hit but that is all they managed on a NL Staff that threw Cain, Gonzales (Nats), Strasburg (Nats), Kershaw (Dodgers), Dickey (Amazins'), Hamels (Phils), Kimbrel (Braves), Chapman (Reds), Miley (D-Backs), Hanrahan (Pirates), and the Phils, Papelbon who close the Door in the 9th. Perfectly orchestrated by Redbirds Retired Skipper Tony LaRussa.

Final.....NL 8 AL 0 with Cain picking up the W and Verlander talking the L.
