It will go down to the Wire and 2 or even 3 of these players will play their way right out of the race. The 2012 NL MVP Race is heating up and it's only July after the Break but Enquiring Minds what to know.

After careful consideration and watching the Top 10 Players up until All-Star Break the Bluedude has his Top 5 Picks.

The 2012 Top 5 NL MVP Candidates from Bluedude Sportstalk and the Bluedude is sponsored by if the Drug Test Collection Guy comes by the House to get that Sample and it's late Friday and its looks like he won't make it to Fed Ex. Tell him to come get a Fresh Sample on Monday so there are no mix ups and Golden Seal won't work:

CF Andrew McCutchen aka Project A.M. Buccos
.362 avg  18 Bombs 60 Ribbies .625 Slg% .414 OBP

He is my Front runner and he is having a MVP Type Season across the Board and #1 in Slugging Percentage.

LF Melky Cabrera aka Melk Man Gigantes
.353 avg  8 Bombs 44 Ribbies .519 Slg% .391 OBP

Don't let those Bomb and RBI Numbers fool you he is a perfect case of..." Don't tell me how many but when did you get them". He is a Serious Contender and to cap it off the 2012 All-Star Game MVP

1B Joey Votto aka J.V. Red Legs
.344 avg 14 Bombs  48 Ribbies  .608 Slg% .465 OBP

The 2012 NL MVP is staking his claim to being a Top 5 in the Show and the he is the Leader Offensively for Dusty and the Reds. Is Hot and will Stay Hot as he has gotten' into a nice groove.

3B David Wright aka D-Dub Amazins'
.353 avg 11 Bombs  59 Ribbies  .565 Slg %  .443 OBP

Wright is having his best season in the Show in his Career and the Mets are right there in the NL East. Can he maintain the Thunder playing in Gotham City when you as a Player are not watching but they the Media and NYC is always watching.

LF Carlos Gonzalez aka Cargo Rockies
.334 avg  17 Bombs 58 Ribbies  .581 Slg% .392 OBP

Will turn 27 in the middle of October and he is looking and will get a Huge Payday from the Rockies as he is their Franchise moving Forward with Rockies SS Tulowitzki riding Shotgun. Coors Field will help his Power Numbers in the race and he has no Pressure because the Rockies are not in the Race in the NL West.

I am still sticking to my favorite in Andrew McCutchen but the Melk Man and Votto will be right there. Wright is somewhat of a long shot because he plays in NYC...that added pressure to Win at everything.

Votto is #1 in On Base Percentage and #2 in Slugging Percentage the 2 most important categories and a recipe for getting the MVP. The Buccos McCutchen is #1 Slg% and #3 in OBP.....which means it will be between them Two players if they keep up the Pace.
