The Baltimore Ravens aka the Purple Browns get arguably a Top 3 Running Back on Sunday signed as they ink former Piscataway, New Jersey University Alum (State University of New Jersey...Rutgers) Ray Rice to a Deal.
NFL.com is reporting that the Deal is to be worth just North of $40 Million Big Ones over 5 Seasons (a reported $24 Million in Guarantees) to keep their Star Running Back close to the Chesapeake Bay. Now the Purple Browns have to get their Ordinary Joe signed to a Deal to complete their Franchise Signings at least for the Offensive Side of the Pigskin.
Rice was a Monster in 2011 and as a part of Steelers Nation I know all too well what this Pint-Sized Pocket Hercules Look-a-Like does on Sundays. Take a look at R2's 2011 Numbers and you be the judge.
R2 Stats for 2011 Season
Note: Played in all 16 Games
RUSHING
291 Atts 1,364 Yds 4.7 Avg/Tote 12 Pay Dirts
RECEIVING
76 Recs 704 Yds 9.3 Avg/Grab 3 Pay Dirts
Rice was 2nd on Sunday in Rushing behind Pocket-Hercules of the Jags Mo Jones-Drew by 242 Yards. #3 in Rushing Attempts behind the aforementioned Jones-Drew and Burner Turner of the Dirty Birds.
The most impressive Stat is that he was #1 on the Purple Browns in Receiving and #18 on Sunday in Receptions with 76 tied with the Bills WR "Why So Serious" Johnson and the G-Men's Hakeem Nicks.
Now the signing of Ordinary Joe Flacco will get done but it didn't get done before the Deadline. Joe has to realize though who is important and ask Ed Reed who makes the Offense. Purple Browns we will be waiting on you and the New Rich Dude #27...I promise you that.
