the DYNASTY on the ICE..the 1980s EDMONTON OILERS...the BLUEDUDE's Favorite on the ICE of ALL-TIME..the GREAT ONE, MEESIER, and KURRI among others

I remember like yesterday the GAMES on the then biggest Hockey Network of All-Time the USA NETWORK and the TEAMS that dominated the ICE in the NHL in the 80's....the NY ISLANDERS, Philadelphia FLYERS, and of course the EDMONTON OILERS who WON 5 CUPS in the 80's.

Led by Head Coach Glenn SATHER and a skinny but highly-skilled HOCKEY Machine in WAYNE GRETZKY later called the GREAT ONE and to this day arguably the BEST HOCKEY PLAYER ever to lace them skates up.

They Played at the NORTHLANDS Coliseum in Edmonton ALBERTA and they were the ONLY Team with a man of color in net in the GREAT GRANT FUHR. But maybe the best LINE the BLUEDUDE has ever scene on the ICE ever...in the WAYNE GRETZKY of CANADA, Yari KURRI of FINLAND, and Mark MESSIER of CANADA. Then in DEFENSE you had 2 CANADIENS in Paul COFFEY and Kevin LOWE. The OILERS were simply dominant in all phases and they had the GRET ONE in #99 but KURRI and MESSIER alone on that line were arguably every night the best WINGERS in the BUSINESS as well.

The OILERS WON LORD's STANLEY's CUP in 1983-1985, 1986-88, and 1989-1990 season....5 in all and the last one was without the GREAT ONE as he had took his act to HOLLYWOOD literally.

The OILERS battles teams like the NY ISLANDERS led by Mike BOSSY and Brian TROTTIER as well as the Philadelphia FLYERS and guys like Ron HEXTALL and the Head Coach Mike KEENAN led FLYERS.

The OILERS were the most DOMINANT Team the BLUEDUDE has ever seen on the ICE and they were as an intimidating as any of the TEAMS they played against simply because they had the X-FACTOR in the GREAT ONE Wayne GRETZKY...#99.

Even after the TEAM fell apart after the 1989-90 STANLEY CUP....WAYNE starred in LA with KURRI, COFFEY in PITTSBURGH, and MESSIER won himself another CUP in 1993-94 with the NY RANGERS and Co-Captain Brian LEETCH. MESSIER went VIRAL with that WIN with the RANGERS in MSG with LEETCH.

Maybe the BEST LORD's STANLEY CUP run ever and the OILERS unfortunately live in the GHOST of those STANLEY CUPS.

NOTE: To this DAY the CANADIENS and RUSSIANS argue over who has the BEST TALENT in the WORLD as the RUSSIANS have fell off a little but still the CANADIENS and RUSSIANS are the BEST 2 COUNTRIES in the WOLRD at producing the WORLD's Best on the ICE.
