This will be a GOOD ONE in the CITY of BIG SHOULDERS on SUNDAY. With the LIONS coming in at 6-2 and in 2nd place in the NFC North they must WIN to stay ahead of the 5-3 Chicago BEARS who are coming off of a HUGE WIN at the LINC on MONDAY NIGHT.

The LIONS are coming in having all kinds of problems stopping the RUN and BEARS RB Mat FORTE is not the RB you want to see if your fronts 7 is having ISSUES. FORTE leads the LEAGUE from Yards from Scrimmage and is virtually impossible to get to when he reaches the 2nd Level. The BLUEDUDE calls him a 2K11 Version of the GREAT HOF RB Marcus ALLEN. A Big Back, excellent Feet, deceptive speed, hard to tackle, and the BEARS best WR.

The BEARS have problems of their own and they must STOP the AIR ATTACK of the LIONS starting with WR Calvin JOHNSON aka MEGATRON. Last time these 2 teams played JOHNSON got deep repeatedly and so much to the fact the BEARS cut the SAFETY he kept Burning up in Chris HARRIS recently. And who did HARRIS sign with...none other than the Detroit LIONS...how 'bout the JONATHAN APPLES.

Offensively the BEARS are starting to put some things together around the aforementioned FORTE. WRs HESTER, WILLIAMS, and a splash of Dane SANZENBACHER. Offensive COORDINATOR Mike MARTZ had a really good rythm going at the LINC in Philly Monday Night. HESTER as of right now is probable nursing a sprained ankle wich is big news for the LIONS as HESTER is also a FACTOR in the KICKING GAME.

The LIONS have to find some sort of running game and if they can't they will most likely lose this game. Being one dimensional in the NFL means gloom and doom. So Lions RB Jahvid BEST and Company must keep the BEARS Front honest so that TAMPA 2 Coverage isn't as effective in the PASSING GAME if you can keep URLACHER n BRIGGS from dropping DEEP in COVERAGE.

TALE of the TAPE for the Showdown in SOLDIER FIELD:

OFFENSE
LIONS

29.9 Pts (3rd) 355.9 YDS (13th) 260.6 Pass YDS (10th) 95.2 Rush YDS (27th)

BEARS

25 Pts (10th) 341.8 YDS (17th) 220.9 Pas YDS (19th) 120.9 Rush YDS (11th)

DEFENSE
LIONS

18.4 Pts (6th) 331.2 YDS (9th) 193.6 Pass YDS (5th) 137.6 Rush YDS (29th)

BEARS

21.8 Pts (15th) 374.2 YDS (23rd) 264.2 Pass YDS (26th) 110 Rush YDS (11th)

looking at the STATS the LIONS need to RUN the BALL effectively as they are at the BOTTOM in that category. The BEARS STATS that stick out is DEFENSIVELY they give up a lot of YARDS but they have that BEND but DON'T BREAK Mentality. And being 26th in PASS DEFENSE the LIONS again will try to exploit that with their AIR ATTACK led by QB Matt STAFFORD.

A lot is hanging in the BALANCE in this one and on the backside of this matchup the LIONS play the PACKERS twice and the BEARS play them once. In turn the LIONS must BEAT the BEARS to give them that cushion because NO ONE in this Division is beating the PACK.
