Then Tampa Rays know it when they see it as they are never overspending on a Small Market Budget but Front Line Staring Pitching is at a premium. The Rays are 50/50 at best at keeping 2012 AL Cy Young Winner David Price and the rays have to keep someone in that current Rotation in the fold long-term if or when Price vacates the Rays.

Enter RHP Chris Archer as he through numerous Media Outlets inks a six-year deal worth $43.75 million with guarantees of $25.5 million. That is $18.25 million in incentives but that guarantees coming from the Rays is nice considering that aforementioned small market budget. In 2013 Archer started 23 of 23 games with a 9-7 W-L and a 3.22 ERA with two Complete Jobs and two Shutouts.  He also struck out 101 in 128.2 innings as he allowed 15 to leave the premises and issued 38 Free Passes.

The Rays know now with Hot Corner All-Star Evan Longoria locked up the next Business obviously is Price if they can get close and 2013 AL Rookie of the Year Wil Myers will be next up for Rays Duffel Bags.
