When talking Men's Long Jump in the Olympics Two Names should come to mind rather Quickly in Santa Monica Track Club All -World Athlete Carl Lewis and Leaper Mike Powell. Powell still holds the World and American Record while Mr. Lewis holds the Meet Record. Burst, Speed, Precision, hit an Inch or Two in front of the Board, Leap, and Extend......Sand.

The Three Long Jumpers that will represent the US in the Long Jump in London:

World Record 8.95m (29-4.5 Feet) Mike Powell
American Record 8.95m (29-4.5 Feet) Mike Powell
Meet Record 8.76m (28-9) Carl Lewis

1. Marquise Goodwin Texas Hookem' Horns 8.33m (27-4 feet)

2. William Claye Nike 8.23m (27 feet)

3. George Kitchens Jr.  Unattached 8.21m (26-11.25 feet)

Goodwin was a Big-Time Performer at the University of Texas in Austin and has been an All-American at UT Austin from Day 1.  William Claye was close as he is just .10 Meters off Goodwin.  They are no where near Powell or Lewis' Marks but the Competition in London will be the World's Best so they need to put their Best Leap Forward.
